Safely demonstrate controlled cutting techniques using at least three different edged tools.
- Maintain safe body position at all times
- Use controlled, deliberate strokes
- Stop work when repositioning or distracted
- Explain what could go wrong with improper technique
Demonstrate basic care and maintenance of an edged tool, including cleaning, sharpening or honing, and proper storage.
- Explain why sharp tools are safer than dull ones
- Demonstrate correct sharpening angle or method
- Clean and dry tool after use
- Store tool safely with edge protected

Reflect
Look back and see what changed.
Explain how discipline and restraint affected your safety and confidence while using edged tools.
