    Safely demonstrate controlled cutting techniques using at least three different edged tools.

    • Maintain safe body position at all times
    • Use controlled, deliberate strokes
    • Stop work when repositioning or distracted
    • Explain what could go wrong with improper technique

    Demonstrate basic care and maintenance of an edged tool, including cleaning, sharpening or honing, and proper storage.

    • Explain why sharp tools are safer than dull ones
    • Demonstrate correct sharpening angle or method
    • Clean and dry tool after use
    • Store tool safely with edge protected
