From Discover to Reflect

Every Saints Global badge follows the same arc — learn it, plan it, do it, then reflect on what changed.

  1. Step 1 · DISCOVER

    Discover

Learn what this badge is really about.

Sing or play a simple song or hymn selected by the advisor, demonstrating correct technique, phrasing, tone, rhythm, dynamics, and accurate reading of musical notation.

Name the five general families of musical instruments and create an illustration showing how sound is produced in each family.

  2. Step 2 · PLAN

    Plan

Get ready — gather what you need.

Complete two music exploration activities from listening, interviewing, performance participation, or historical research, and prepare to discuss insights gained.

  3. Step 3 · ACT

    Act

Do the work, in the real world.

Demonstrate applied music leadership or creativity by completing one of the following: teach songs to a group, compose and perform original music, or build and play a traditional instrument.

    • Plan the activity with clear musical goals
    • Demonstrate or perform confidently
    • Adjust based on audience or participant response
    • Explain musical choices made
  4. Step 4 · REFLECT

    Reflect

Look back and see what changed.

Explain what intellectual property is, how recorded music should be obtained and shared legally, and why respecting creative ownership matters.
