Just Serve

From Discover to Reflect

Every Saints Global badge follows the same arc — learn it, plan it, do it, then reflect on what changed.

  1. Step 1 · DISCOVER

    Discover

Learn what this badge is really about.

Read Mosiah 2:17 and Matthew 25:40, then explain to a leader how these scriptures redefine service as worship and discipleship. (TLX 1.0)

Observe your home, church, school, or neighborhood and identify four real service needs, explaining how each was discovered through observation rather than suggestion. (TLX 1.2)

Interview two individuals who have served in demanding situations.

    • Identify what personal cost each service required.
    • Explain what made continuing difficult.
  2. Step 2 · PLAN

    Plan

Get ready — gather what you need.

Select one service need involving direct interaction with people and define what meaningful help looks like from their perspective. (TLX 1.2)

Design a service action that requires personal sacrifice.

    • Identify what comfort, time, or preference you must give up.
    • Explain why this sacrifice is necessary to truly help.

Identify two foreseeable obstacles and explain how you will act righteously when they arise. (TLX 1.4)

  3. Step 3 · ACT

    Act

Do the work, in the real world.

Personally carry out the planned act of service without delegating core tasks. (TLX 1.7)

Sustain effort long enough to experience fatigue, frustration, or inconvenience and continue without complaint. (TLX 1.8)

Adapt to an unexpected challenge during the service.

    • Explain what changed.
    • Describe how you adjusted rather than quitting or reducing effort.

Serve in a way that intentionally avoids recognition or praise. (TLX 1.6)

Immediately after service, explain to a leader what you gave up, what was hardest, and why the sacrifice mattered. (TLX 1.6)

  4. Step 4 · REFLECT

    Reflect

Look back and see what changed.

Using Moroni 7:45, explain how charity was tested or strengthened through this experience. (TLX 1.2)

Describe one specific change in how you now view people in need or service opportunities. (TLX 1.1)

Explain how this experience prepares you to serve as a husband, father, or leader. (TLX 1.2)
